2007 Rally and Camping Fee information:

We have rented the entire Thousand Lakes Campground which is the only campground in the area that has the amenities (including a small pool) to handle a group our size. The owners of the campground-John and Vally look forward to having the INOA back and are sportbike motorcyclists as well. Since we are affording you the rare opportunity to have a rally in one of the most spectacular places in the country it comes with some extra planning and expense for your rally host-The Utah British Bike Club to make sure you have a fantastic and comfortable experience. You will notice that the camping fee is the same as last years rally with the exception of the large full hook-up sites which can be more or less depending how many are staying in the motorhome or large trailer. The cabins at the campground on the other hand are in some way's a blessing and pain for us at the same time. There are only eight cabins and we started getting calls on them in the fall of last year and by the beginning of the year they were all reserved. Unfortunately we spend more time telling folks that they are all booked up. There are plenty of motels, B&B's and some cabins nearby and they get getting a lot of calls already-so make your reservations soon! Due to its spectacular beauty-Torrey is also a destination for people from all around the world and there is a small film festival going on in nearby Bicknell so again-make your reservations now.

There are a limited number of full hook-up RV sites at the campground and they are also going fast. The way the campground rental works for us is this-we get charged for every one of the campsites at their respective rate. The regular tent sites and ones with just water and electric are charged all the same at $8.00 per person per night. It doesn't matter if you use a camper, small trailer or tent the fee is all the same. On the other hand, if you require a large full RV site with sewer, you are charged what we are getting charged for all four nights. So if you show up with only two people in the RV, it will cost you $23.00-which is $7.00 more per night-but if you have four people in your RV, it will save you $9.00 per night and so on. The large RV spots must be reserved. Since this campground is not quite as large as some previous rally sites, please share when you can.

The main difference cost wise is that the rally fee is $10.00 more this year at $60.00. While the campground is extremely clean with flush toilets, hot showers and is well shaded, we still need to bring in a large 40ft. x 80 ft. tent plus tables, chairs and additional trailer for showers. This is so we have a "Norton Town Center" where even if you show up with a pup tent on your Commando, you can have a shady place to hang out with your buddies, somewhere to hold the dinners if it should rain and a nice shady place to hold the Concours. It was extremely popular with the 361 people that showed up to the Red Rock Norton Rally in 2000. The nearest rental facility is hours away and the $4,000.00 they charge also pays to send in a crew to set it up and then come back to take it down. We also paid to bring in an additional hot shower trailer. You try to predict rally attendance by past rallies and even then it is still a guestimate. So if we have the same amount of attendees as in 2000, it will cost an additional $13.00 each to pay for the tent, tables, chairs etc. plus additional showers as this is a fixed cost. At that rate we aren't quite making up the $10.00 additional expense from last year and of course the number goes up or down with attendance but it is something we feel is needed to host a successful rally. Camping fees help make up the difference. This all adds to the cost of holding a rally here but our experience tells us it is worth it and makes for happy campers.
